ATKINS DIET

The Zone dietary program is based upon consistent insulin control coupled with the supplementation of high-dose fish oil in order to modulate the synthesis of arachidonic acid. Insulin control is achieved by balancing protein and carbohydrate at each meal (1-4).

 

THE SOUTH BEACH DIET


Information: diet issues. The South Beach Diet recipes is the best low-carb-type diet currently on the market. It is a Diet Plan with the right carb and fats. It emphasizes healthy, carbohydrate-containing foods and encourages moderate portion sizes of all foods -- including your not-so-healthy favorites.

 

The South Beach Diet emphasizes normal portions of lean proteins such as fish and chicken; unlimited amounts of low-glycemic-index vegetables; ample amounts of healthy fats such as olive and canola oil, nuts and avocados; and small portions of "healthy carbs" found in fruit and less-processed grains.

 

THE SCARSDALE DIET


Information: diet issues. This is a basic weight loss plan for adults who have no special dietary needs or problems. The Scarsdale Diet is a diet plan of seven- to fourteen-days duration.

 

It clearly outlines the types of foods to be consumed at three meals each day. Snacking is not allowed, and herbal appetite suppressants are encouraged. Meals consist of fruit, vegetables, and lean sources of protein in unlimited amounts.

 

CABBAGE SOUP DIET

DR. PHIL DIET

LOW CARB DIET

It also means replacing all those carbs you cut out with quality protein foods, and quality fats as well. With properly planned low carb diet plans, your body will burn mostly fat, and will preserve the lean muscle.

 

If you exercise, you will add lean muscle while losing fat, which will increase your metabolic rate, and increase the fat-burning effect. Muscle tissue weighs more than fat, but takes up less bulk, so you may find yourself getting smaller in size without seeing a drastic drop on the scales.

 

MEDITERRANEAN DIET

The Mediterranean diet has attracted interest due to the traditionally lower rates of diet-related disease (e.g. heart disease and cancer) within the region.

 

PROTEIN POWER DIET

The plan is divided into three main stages: Phase I, Phase II and Maintenance levels. It is designed to lower and control insulin levels by decreasing the intake of carbohydrates. When carbohydrates are broken down into simple sugars and then absorbed into the blood stream, the hormone insulin is released according to the amount of sugar present.
